This Privacy Policy is a draft prepared for legal review. It describes what the website does today; the owner must confirm it meets the requirements of every jurisdiction the site targets before public launch.

What we collect and why
The only personal data this website collects is what you enter in the request form: your name, company or organization, country, business email address, an optional telephone number, the service you require, and the description and technical details of your request.
We use this information solely to understand your requirement, to respond to you, and to prepare a quotation or advisory proposal. Providing it is voluntary, but without the required fields we cannot process a request.
Submitting the form requires your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us; we will then stop processing the request and delete the data unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it.
Files you attach
You may attach specifications, drawings, parts lists or photos to your request. Each file is checked for its type and size and stored in private object storage operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Files are never published, never served to the public, and can be opened only by our staff after signing in. Our notification email carries a link to each file, not the file itself.
Attached files are kept on the same clock as the request they belong to and are deleted with it. A file that is uploaded but never attached to a sent request is deleted within hours.
Where the data is stored
Submitted requests are stored in a database operated by Cloudflare, Inc. as part of the hosting platform for this website, and a copy is sent by email to contact@elba-hafen.com through the email service provider Resend, Inc. Both providers process the data on our behalf under their respective data processing terms.
The hosting provider may process your IP address and technical request data for the purpose of delivering the website and protecting it against abuse. This website does not store your IP address together with your request.
Protection against automated abuse
The request form and the file upload may be protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a verification service operated by Cloudflare, Inc. When it is active, your browser contacts Cloudflare when the form is shown, and Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical browser signals to tell a person from an automated script. Turnstile does not track you across other websites and does not show you advertising.
How long we keep it
Requests are kept for as long as needed to respond to them and to handle any resulting order or engagement, and afterwards for the period required by applicable commercial and tax record-keeping rules. Requests that do not lead to an engagement, together with the files attached to them, are deleted no later than 24 months after submission by an automatic nightly process.
Your browser and local storage
While you fill in the request form, the website saves a draft of your entries in your own browser's local storage so that a page reload does not lose them. The draft never leaves your device; it is deleted when the request is sent successfully, and you can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
To let the website open when you have no network connection, your browser may also store copies of the website's own files. No personal data is included.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or tracking services. It may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service operated by Cloudflare, Inc., which counts page views without cookies, without identifying you and without following you across other websites.
The only third-party scripts it can load are Cloudflare Turnstile on the request form, described above, and the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon.
Sharing of data
We do not sell or rent personal data. Beyond the service providers named above, we share the information in your request only where it is necessary to fulfil it, for example with a manufacturer or supplier when preparing a quotation, and then only to the extent required.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@elba-hafen.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
